ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

After the first ten years of my life as a refugee on the front lines, I had survived unspeakable horrors and was looking forward to immigrating to America when I was a teenager. Having heard stories about life in the United States from the American G.I’.s occupying Germany, giving me hope that I could achieve the American dream too. But, with good intentions my mother married me off to the first American man who showed an interest in me. With unexpected, horrible results, and at sixteen I found myself married to a diagnosed sociopath. After living in emotional hell for thirteen years I found myself having to support two small children without the benefit of an education or any job skills.

This led to a lot of poor choices since I had never learned to choose for myself – only to follow orders.
Through a lifetime of errors I corrected one mistake at a time until now, at age seventy-eight I am finely living the dream I’d always hoped for!

I am married to a very kind and loving man who treats me with the respect I deserve – as any human being has a right to. I live life in beautiful So. Oregon, in a lovely home, nice community, and have the pleasure of my children being respectable, contributing citizens of society.
It has been a long journey but worth it.

I hope you will read my book, take the journey of my words, and see how much one woman can endure…

Warm Regards,
Author, Agathe von Kampen

I met you at the Roseburg Library at the author’s book signing. I had met Bonnie Leon and wanted her latest revised book on “Journey of Eleven Moons”. I’ve read your book and feel I will remember your story for a long time. I am German also, and have always felt grateful my great-grandparents on both sides immigrated to America before the terrible Hitler years. I’ve had troubles in my life also, though not nearly what you went through. I rarely dream and I’m glad, because my dreams are always troubled and dark. I can’t imagine what your dreams are like. I hope you don’t dream or have good dreams.

I feel you have another book in you. I hope you will write it someday. This book is so troubling and just your last couple of pages told of your new relationship with God, your new husband, and that your daughters are doing well. I want a book of your new life in Christ Jesus! I would love to see pictures and know the church you are attending now.

Hello Mary, I am so sorry that it took me so long to respond but I had to learn first how to work this program (The computer in general). I remember talking to you in Roseburg – glad you were inspired by reading the book. Agathe

I am sorry it took me so long to respond but I am having such difficulty with all the computer programs and how to use them – just now figured out how to get the comments to my blog. Why don’t you e-mail me at agatheturrell35@gmail.com and we can get to know each other. I attend the Jerome Prairie Bible Church in Grants Pass.
